Precision Installation: 5-Tonne Reactor at Sika North

Our team recently returned to Sika North to assist with the installation of a hefty 5-tonne reactor.

The reactor needed to be carefully hoisted into position between the steel deck already in place. Due to its weight, we utilised two JMG MC160 electric cranes — our Mary and one on hire from Factory Plant. Once in position, the reactor was uprighted in situ using a 3-tonne chain block and beam clamp, with millimetres to spare. This is where our teams manual handling training came into action, winching the reactor into position in the mezzanine.

It was a fantastic and challenging project, demonstrating the skill, precision, and teamwork of our crew in executing complex installations safely.
